Summer Maintenance: Taking Care of Your Canadian House
Take Advantage of the Good Weather
With the high temperatures of January and February, it is the perfect time to check the exterior of your home. Canadian and Mediterranean houses are designed to last, but a little care never hurts.
1. Check Seals and Windows
Heat can expand certain materials. Check the silicone and seals around your double-glazed windows. Good sealing not only insulates from the cold in winter but also keeps the cool air from air conditioning inside during the summer.
2. Gutter Cleaning
Although it rarely rains in the central zone during summer, it is common for dry leaves and dust to accumulate. A quick cleaning now will prevent clogs when the first autumn rains arrive.
3. Cross Ventilation
Our houses have excellent insulation, but to keep them naturally cool, remember to open opposite windows early in the morning and close them before noon. This traps the cool air inside the insulated structure.
maintaining your investment is simple when the construction is of quality. Enjoy your summer!
