Real acoustic insulation: The noise myth in Metalcon houses

"Prefabricated houses sound hollow." "If it rains hard, it feels like you're inside a tin can."

If you've been researching options to build on a plot in the south, you've likely come across this classic urban myth. However, the reality, when working with the modern Canadian standard, is diametrically opposite.

The Physics of Sound

Sound travels through the air and through structural vibrations. The mistake of cheap prefabricated houses of the past was using thin woods or partitions with no inner filling, tuning walls into soundboxes.

At Canadian Houses, our Metalcon walls are not "hollow".

The Multi-Layer Solution

To achieve excellent acoustic insulation (and thermal simultaneously), we use an internationally proven multi-layer solution:

  1. Solid Exterior Cladding: The first blocker of environmental and impact noise (rain/wind).
  2. Moisture and Wind Barriers: They dampen external vibrations.
  3. High-Density Mineral Wool / Fiberglass: The soul of the wall. Installed thick and packed between the steel studs, it literally absorbs sound waves, preventing them from bouncing.
  4. Interior Vapor Barrier.
  5. Gypsum Boards (Drywall): Or even double boarding in sensitive areas, providing high acoustic mass and blocking the transmission of voices or internal noises.

The result is an extremely quiet home. When you close the thermopane windows, the southern Chile wind and rain storm turns into a mere whisper, and the bedrooms maintain the privacy that each family member needs.

Properly executed Metalcon does not make noise. Build the sanctuary of peace your family requires with Canadian Houses.
